The special education attorneys and advocates at A2Z are dedicated to helping parents obtain special education services for their children. We work to represent parents of students with disabilities at every level of the process, assisting parents with the evaluation process, advocating at IEP meetings, filing compliance complaints with the California Department of Education, representing parents through due process hearings and mediations, and pursuing claims in federal court when necessary.
A2Z Educational Advocates was founded by attorney N Jane DuBovy, a parent of a child with Autism who decided after advocating for her own son to put her legal skills to work for other students and parents who needed representation in the special education process. You can read about Jane's journey as a parent of a child with Autism in her blog post, A Mother's Story. Jane DuBovy is a dedicated and passionate attorney, leading the A2Z team on its mission to not only represent parents, but to educate and empower them as they become their child's best advocate. She is the founder of the Women's Organization of Special Education Professionals (WOSEP), which she started in order to create better communication and outreach opportunities within the special education community and to provide the public with efficient information regarding resources and services.
